Biography
Rebecca Blouin grew up as the daughter of a Southern Baptist Minister of Music, singing for as long as she can remember. By the time Rebecca was a senior in high school she was an accomplished ballet dancer, owned and operated a ballet studio, conducted several choirs, choreographed and starred in The Fantasticks, and had a full talent scholarship to college in Vocal Performance.
Rebecca studied vocal performance, theater and dance at The University of Mississippi and Cincinnati Conservatory of Music. In the last 25 years, Blouin has continued her teaching by educating teenagers and young adults in performance skills including: proper vocal techniques, acting execution, staging and movement skills, audition techniques, comprehensive knowledge of the college audition process , and selecting proper repertoire. As well as operating her own studios, Blouin has led master classes, directed and choreographed for Decatur High School, The Paideia School, Grady High School, The Lovett School, Tisch School of the Arts at NYU, Southern Vermont College, Sonatina School of Music, and Northwest Delta Arts and Choral Society.
Rebecca's performance career has continued in Atlanta, New York, Vermont, North and South Carolina, and California. Her students have been accepted into classical, music theater, and theater programs such as Boston University, Carnegie Mellon, Eastman School of Music, Cincinnati Conservatory of Music, Tisch School of the Arts, Elon University, Wright State University, Emory University, University of Georgia, Northwestern University, and Indiana University.
